Big changes!
Time is flying by, andI feel like the days and weeks have blurred together these last few months. I have about a week left here in Indiana before I return to Maryland for a few weeks. My current plan is:
May 31: return to Maryland
June 5-10: Candidate school at BIMI in Tennessee
July 25-Aug. 5: Short term medical missions trip down the Amazon
September: start traveling full time on deputation!
Currently, I am packing and finishing out the school year. I am going to miss my kids here at Faith so much. I have grown to love them and they have certainly taught me many things about teaching and myself. This time spent teaching has been of the Lord. I am reminded everyday that, His ways are higher than mine. If you have known me any length of time, you may have heard me remark at one time or another that, ‘I will never teach,’ or ‘Teaching just isn’t for me.’ Well, friend, I have learned that not only can I teach, but I can also enjoy it. All my life I have heard people tell me, “Never say never, because God has a sense of humor.” I think sometimes God takes things we don’t want to do and has us try them. Maybe just so we can see how foolish we are to doubt His power in an area or to stubbornly set ourselves against something. I wholeheartedly believe that a great deal of the reason He brought me here was because I was so determined to never set foot in a classroom. And here I am! Not only teaching, but also loving it. God is so good. He is so patient with us as He lovingly guides and instructs us.
I want to take a minute and thank each person who has donated to my missions trip! It has been so awesome to watch God use you to take care of this need. The Amazon trip has been paid in full. My initial plan to go on my survey trip, while I was down there has fallen through due to unforeseen circumstances, so my survey trip will be this year or early next year.
I am so excited to see what the Lord is doing! It feels like I am just sitting back and watching how He orchestrates circumstances and moves plans into motion. Thank you so much for your prayers and support!
