Progress!

Hello from Northern VA!       It has been so nice to spend a few weeks here in my home area. I haven't spent much time up here just because I’ve had meetings all over the place, but its been nice to see them and be in familiar territory.  I got the news that our container has gone out! It is so exciting to think that all of my things will soon be in Brazil and I will be following shortly!       In the last few weeks I have seen a small jump in my support, putting me up at 60%! I am super excited to see the progress as I continue to pray and make preparations for a move in November.       Last week I had the opportunity to go on a hike up in Front Royal, VA. It was a hike I had read up on some and I was super excited to have the time to go. I checked the weather, it was supposed to be a warm, sunny 75 degrees all day, perfect hiking weather. It was about a 4 mile round trip hike, so not too long. I got to the site and parke...

Happy Spring!        I am back up on the East Coast! And may I say, it is COLD!!! I was not quite prepared for the 50 degree weather I would be facing lol.       That aside, it has been wonderful to be back up here with some familiar faces, it has been so great to see my parents again. I haven't been home since Christmas! All my travels have kept me quite busy and out of the area.       It has been an exciting last couple of weeks for me lately! I recently purchased my plane tickets for my Survey/Set-up trip in Brazil! I will spend the month of September down there in preparation for my move, which will be, Lord willing, this coming November. It was so neat to buy those tickets and think that very soon my life will be transplanted for good in Brazil. I am very ready to get down there and get busy!       Also in the last few weeks I have had the opportunity to begin classes for Brazilian Sign Language (Libras...

Travel adventures

Well it’s never boring, that’s for sure! There is always something happening or going on to make this deputation thing exciting and thrilling! We are *still* enjoying the wonderful warm weather down in Florida. I will be making my way up north(north-er) on Monday. My mom flew down to spend the weekend with me and help me make the 17 hour drive next week back to Maryland. I am so excited to get to spend some time with her these few days!       Yesterday we were driving from eastern Florida to south-west   Florida. I had a meeting on the East coast Wednesday night. We were taking our time, it was just a 4 hour drive so I wasn’t super pressed for time or anything. We pulled off the highway to eat lunch and as we were leaving the restaurant, Rays front bumper just about fell off! I had checked to be sure I wasn’t up on the curb, and both of us are sure I didn't hit anything yesterday, but there it was, hanging on by a few clips. Last week ...

DR Trip P.2

Image
Hello!   I am on my way back to the USA from the DR! I had the most wonderful trip, It was truly a time of refreshment and encouragement for me. Thank you so much for your prayers, I had a uncharacteristically (though appreciated) uneventful trip. Everything went according to plan, I did not experience any travel ‘hiccups.’ I am excited to get back though and jump back into the swing of deputation (and see Ray. <3)  Most of my time in the DR on this trip, I spent with the Jordan family. Pastor Ben Jordan was my pastor for most of my teen years and his been such Godly influence in my life all these years. It was such an encouragement to me to get to spend time with their family on this trip!  During my time in the DR, I had the opportunity to sit and talk to Mrs Joy Wesson. Mrs Joy is most of the reason I ever got involved in Deaf ministry at all, she really has helped me so much throughout the years and I loved getting to sit and talk with her. She currently has...

DR P. 1

Hello friends!       It has been an awesome start to my trip here in the Dominican Republic. I spent my first few days in the capital, Santo Domingo, before heading up to the Northern part of the country, Nagua. I had the opportunity to have a small part of the 5th anniversary service for the “Iglesia Bautista Costa del Norte,” which is the church my family started while we were on the mission field. It was such a personal blessing to me to be present during their special service. My parents also were able to be there and have a part in it.  (There is a video linked on my FB page if you would like to see some footage from the day)      Greyson 2018 Greyson 2023      On Saturday, while we were out visiting in preparation for the service, I ran across one of my old bus kids! He recognized me from a distance and came running to give me the biggest hug, smiling so big. It was such a sweet moment for me.       I...

I hope I never get over how incredible my journey as a missionary has been. The Lord has done some incredible things for me before deputation and even while traveling.       This last week I had the opportunity to attend BIMI’s South America Field Conference.  What a tremendous encouragement it was for me to be around so many faithful missionaries serving the Lord here in SA. Many of the missionaries present, I had heard named before but had not been privileged to meet yet. What a blessing to put some faces and relationships behind the names! BIMI South America is truly a family and I am so excited to be a part of it.       This week I had the wonderful opportunity to be one of the interpreters for the conference. There were a couple of deaf missionaries present whom I got to meet and get to know this week. It was such a special blessing to me to interpret for the Deaf while in the country. I got just a small glimps...

Quick recap! -February

Hello from Maryland!  It has been quite a while since I have been up this far north, and I must say, stepping off the plane into 30 degrees reminded me why lol.  I had the opportunity to fly up to MD for the weekend to take part in a conference here. I’ll be flying back to Florida on Monday morning to pick up Ray (my car) and travel to a church there. The last several weeks have been crazy busy for me, I had the opportunity to present my work in 8 different churches in just the last 4 weeks! God has been so good, and has blessed so much. I have gotten to meet so many people and form relationships with servants of the Lord from all over. I recently was in a missions conference in Louisiana and really enjoyed getting to spend time with the pastors family as well as the other missionaries present. There is nothing like fellowship among other people working to serve the Lord! It is an encouragement like no other.  This week is my last week of meetings for a little whil...
