Thankful
As I am starting through these first holidays spent here in Brazil, I have spent quite a bit of time pondering ALL that I have to be thankful for, this year in particular. God has been so very good to me and as I inch closer and closer to completing my first year on the mission field, I can look back and remember the numerous blessings, large and small that have been bestowed on me.
First of all, I am here! February 19, 2024, God brought me here to Brazil to start living this adventure of a lifetime! Every day I wake up and am overjoyed that God saw fit to call me into the ministry, and I am so grateful for His presence which has sustained me here so far. To me it seems like another lifetime ago that I was called to the field, another lifetime ago that I was in college preparing to come, even deputation feels like ages ago. But with all of the changes, all of the adaptions and difficulties, I have seen God be faithful and continue to work on my behalf. Truly so many things have been put into place in my life that could ONLY have been by Gods hand. All of my legal things have been taken care of, I am so thankful for God working on my behalf to get it all done! My license, residence and Brazilian bank account are the most recent of God’s blessings. As well as God’s providing me a car and a house here in Brazil. I have heard stories of all kinds, missionaries waiting for years to get any of these things accomplished, but God has seen fit to provide them for me.
I am so very thankful for the support system that I have both in the US and am now creating here in Brazil. God has brought so many friends and prayer warriors into my life. People I didn’t know just months ago who now faithfully pray for me and support me. Truly it is amazing to think about. There are people, all over the world, who love me and keep me before our Heavenly Father. If you are one of the many, I thank God for you and your faithfulness to pray! I am thankful for those who reach out to me on a regular basis, sending words of encouragement and to let me know they are praying for me. It means so much to be remembered from so far away.
While this is by no means a comprehensive list of everything I could write about, it is certainly some of the greatest things I have to be thankful for this year. God has been so good, and I can’t wait to see what’s ahead!
