T-2 days

2 more days,

It is almost time for my trip! I am so excited to finally get back down to Brazil. It feels like forever since I’ve left the country and any traveler will tell you, the urge to get on a plane and go, is real! If you somehow haven’t heard, I am taking a 10 days missions trip to the Amazon jungle. This is a medical missions trip where our team will have a doctor and some other medical personnel to take medical aid to the tribes in the jungle. I have gone on this trip twice before, but it has been several years since I have gone.

The way the trip is organized is with two separate tents. We have a medical triage section, where doctors and nurses give diagnoses where needed, and provide routine care, the second tent is for outreach. We have a team working with the children, holding programs with songs, games  as well as giving a clear presentation of the gospel. Also in this tent we have soul-winners going around and talking one-on-one with the adults. In the past, I have served in the medical tent as a translator. Since we are often comprised of mainly personnel from the states, the doctors and nurses did not speak the language and I was able to assist by being a two-way translator. We would have people come speaking Spanish, Portuguese and some of the native, tribal languages. I can easily converse in Spanish, and be somewhat understood in Portuguese, but I know nothing of the tribal tongues. I look forward to seeing where I will be able to serve this year!

Please continue to pray for me on this trip, pray for safety, pray for God to move and for people to be saved. Thank you so much for your help in paying for this trip! There were so many people to send money to help pay my way to go. God has used you! Thank you for letting HIM.

P.S. As I will be in the jungle, I will not have Wi-Fi and do not plan on writing for the next few weeks. While I am away though, I plan to keep a detailed log of what we did so I can share it here with photos. Stay tuned!
